Coventry City defender Ben Turner has apparently passed his medical at Cardiff City and thus paved way for a move that may see Cardiff striker Jon Parkin and a wad of cash go the other direction.
However Turner is said to be holding out for a move to his home town club Birmingham City, who are also interested in the 22 year old defender.
Birmingham have accepted a £5m bid from Blackburn Rovers for former Coventry defender Scott Dann and will have cash to spend on a replacement and Turner fits that particular bill exceedingly well.
Coventry will receive up to to 10% of the fee paid for Dann as a sell on clause was part of the deal that took him to Birmingham from Coventry two years ago
Cardiff are thought to have offered Coventry City £750,000 and Parkin in exchange for Turner, while Birmingham are thought to have made a cash only offer in the region of £1m.
The transfer window closes on Wednesday evening.
