Two former City players were in the papers this morning being linked with other clubs.
The first is Robbie Keane, the highly popular Irishman who was disgracefully sold to Inter Milan to keep Geoffrey Robinson MP out of the mire.
Keane has been at Spurs for a number of years, helping them to a League Cup Final win last season but is now wanted by Liverpool who are keen to get a new number seven in their squad. The Scousers, who started work on a new stadium this week, see Keane as someone who can lift the players and supporters.
Meanwhile, Martin Devaney is expected to join Blackpool this week for £150,000. Devaney, who was released by City as a youngster, has a clause in his contract at Barnsley that he can evoke a cur price fee if the right club comes along. For Barnslet, even a fee of £150k will represent a profit as they signed him three years ago on a free from Watford.
