Coventry City supporters will miss out on the pleasure of going to Newcastle United and Peterborough United after this afternoon's results.

Newcastle were promoted back to the Premier League when The Geordies got the points they needed with a 2-1 win against Sheffield United at St James Park after Nottingham Forest could only draw 0-0 with Cardiff City.

At the other end of the table, Peterborough United whose London Road home provided a great day out for over three thousand City fans last month, were sent back to League One following a 2-2 draw at Barnsley.

The Sky Blues are now 14th in the Championship table following Easter's matches. Ipswich went above City with a 3-1 win Derby, whilst Swansea and Leicester ensured they stayed in the Play-off places with wins over Scunthorpe and QPR respectively. Blackpool remain a point behind in seventh after a 2-0 win against Doncaster.

Plymouth are second bottom after a 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are the other club in the bottom three, following a 1-0 home defeat to Bristol City.

Watford, who drew 1-1 with second placed West Brom are fourth bottom whilst Crystal Palace who beat Preston 3-1 are fifth from bottom.

In League One, Norwich City are nine points clear at the top after a 2-1 win against Stockport. Swindon are second thanks to 3-0 win against Tranmere and Millwall are third after winning 2-1 at Colchester United.

Julian Gray scored for Walsall in a 2-1 win over Wycombe.
