One of the demands that the Sky Blue Trust made to Administrator Paul Appleton via a letter at the Creditors Meeting this morning at the Hilton Hotel at Walsgrave has urged for Coventry City to use the Ricoh Arena whilst a new ground is built by current club owners SISU Capital Ltd,
Jan Mokrzycki today handed a letter from the Sky Blue Trust to Mr Appleton and told the Coventry Telegraph's Les Reid: “Mr Appleton has told us his priority is the supporters. Supporters have demonstrated - including through the Coventry Telegraph’s petition - that we do not want to move out of Coventry.
“If he gives CCFC Ltd back to Sisu, that will happen, and that will be bad for the creditors, as it would be a short-term financial disaster.”
He aso said that, if Sisu were to continue as owners with its plans to build a new stadium on the city’s outskirts within “three years”, then talks must take place for home matches at the Ricoh in the interim - not under groundsharing arrangements outside the city, such as at Walsall’s Banks’s stadium.
“It’s time now for Coventry City and ACL directors (which include council executives Martin Reeves and Mr West) to step aside to enable sensible negotiations over rent and matchday costs.
“The people in place have got nowhere for over a year now and it has become silly,” he added.
