The First Round of the League Cup competition produced its usual round of shocks to go with Southampton's defeat at Peterborough last night.
Crystal Palace lost 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers ,MK Dons beat Ipswich on penalties after a 3-3 draw, Morecambe in their first ever League Cup tie won 2-1 at Preston North End, Leyton Orient won 2-1 at QPR, Rochdale beat Stoke on penalties whilst Scunthorpe lost 2-1 at home to Hartlepool.

Nuneaton Borough won 3-1 at Alfreton and in the Midland Alliance, Atherstone beat Oadby 3-1 with goals form Jones,Civzellis and Dunkley whilst Racing Club Warwick won 5-0 at Cradley Town thanks to goals from Dave Wilson, Jay Holtom, Martin Thompson, Matthew Blair and Ryan Howell.
In the Midland Combination, Coventry Copsewood lost 2-0 at Cadbury and Southam beat Massey Ferguson 3-1. Graham,Kay and Handrahan scored for Southam wih Dodds replying for the Tractormen. In Division One, Stockingford lost 2-1 at home to Coton Green.
