Coventry City Technical Director Mark Venus has said that it is up to John Fleck if he wants the offer City have made to him.
Speaking about John Fleck, Venus told the Coventry Telegraph: “We’ve made him the best offer we can.
“He needs to make the most out of his earning potential while he can. Whether the market wants to give him what he feels he is worth is a different matter, of course.
“But John has done really well, found a position that suits him and he’s a good footballer, undoubtedly, and I think he has to play in the right team to suit him. I think he deserves a chance at a higher level but it’s up to the market whether someone takes him.
“We have to continually evaluate the situation and get a feel for it.
“This month is really difficult because players are all still contracted to their last clubs, people are on holiday, clubs are not back for training yet and if you’re a good player you want more and if you are in the Championship you want to stay there.
“This is a really tough month to get things over the line but when the players start coming back for pre-season I think things will really start to take shape.
“We’ll be getting phone calls from agents saying can you do this or that and it will take shape day by day.”
