Coventry City could have on loan striker Charles Varnam back playing within three weeks.
The striker, who made his City debut in the defeat at Northampton Town after joining on loan from Derby County, injured his should and was sent back to his parent club to be assessed.
The diagnosis was not as bad as first feared and no operation will be required with Varnam expected to be playing again inside three weeks.
City boss Russell Slade told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter:“He popped his shoulder. Initially it looked as though he might need to have an operation which could have kept him out for anything between eight to 12 weeks, but we’re now looking at more like three which is good news.
“He’s a striker who’s had to drop into midfield on his debut but he will be a big boost for us when he returns.”
