Craig Bellamy looks likely to join Aston Villa after they agreed a fee for the Welsh international and Aaron Hughes with Newcastle United. No fee has been reported but Villa Chairman Doug Ellis told Villa's website: "I have spoken with Freddy Shepherd, the Newcastle chairman on several occasions in the last 48 hours and last night he accepted our cash offer for both players." Newcastle later denied this, saying they had not accepted any cash offer.
