Coventry City look most likely to sign the Wolves teenage striker, Sam Vokes on a three month loan. It is thought he will sign for the Sky Blues on Thursday and will be eligible for the Middlesborough game on Saturday.
Coventry City manager, Chris Coleman said to The CT, "We are in for a striker who should have been in on Monday but one or two things have occurred and we are hoping he will be in tomorrow. The kid we are talking about, there have been a lot of clubs in for him but he wants to come here, so that's another feather in our cap. And fingers crossed he will be joining us."
The Wolves manager Mick McCarthy said: "A deal has been done and he will be going out on loan."
Vokes was left out of the Wolves squad against Fulham at the weekend and is not expected to be in the squad for tonights Carling Cup tie against Manchester United.
The 6"2' tall striker has not been able to hold down a starting place in the Wolves side and was used as a last quarter substitute in most of last seasons games. He is keen to play first team football to help develop his international career with Wales.
Last season Vokes scored 8 goals in just 6 starts, including the the Wolves goal at the Ricoh in their 2-1 defeat to 'City. Vokes made 35 substitute appearances during Wolves promotion season.
Other clubs were keen to obtain the services of Vokes, including Newcastle, Middlesborough, Watford and Swansea .
