Now in its tenth year, the winner will receive the Christy Heffernan Memorial Trophy which last season was won by Leon Best.
Previous winners include Isaac Osbourne (twice), Gary McSheffrey, Craig Pead, Jay Bothroyd and Chris Kirkland
The annual award is for players at the club aged under twenty one on the opening day of the season and the poll must include a minimum of three Academy players.
The nominees this year are Aron Gunnarsson, Ben Turner, Adam Walker, Curtis Wynter, Ashley Cain, Shaun Jeffers, Jordan Clarke and Sean Fraser
Voting will last until April 1st 2009 and the winner will be presented with the award before the home game with Watford on April 25th.
