Coventry City are a big club in waiting according to City's Development Officer.
Many City supporters perceive the club as one on its lowers as no-one is willing to buy a League One club which does not own its own ground when for the sort of money that it would cost to take control from SISU, one could buy into a long established Premier League club, whilst there are those with the view that the club would be better off folding completely and starting again with a clean slate.
However, Development Officer Steve Waggott disagrees and told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner:: "With the judicial review and other things around the Ricoh Arena and where we’re going to be next year, I am planning for Sixfields but who knows what’s going to happen in the near future.
“That’s all going to have a bearing on different things football-wise. We try to stay divorced from it but it’s part of the equation in terms of retaining and attracting players going forward.
“If you have a modern stadium and modern training facilities it goes a long way.
"It’s like Arsene Wenger when he takes players to Arsenal’s training facility at Colney Heath and then to the Emirates, players say ‘wow, this club’s got a real chance.’
“But we are where we are and Coventry has still got a brand and a name within football that’s perceived to be a sleeping giant, a big club in waiting – players still want to come and join the club, which is great from our perspective.”
