Coventry City Developement Officer Steve Waggott has said that he is graateful for the patience being shown by City supporters.
Some supporters had to wait around five and a half hours to buy season tickets which went on sale on Wednesday morning to those who had a season ticket in 2012/2013.
Speaking to the club website, Mr Waggott said: “The excitement at the return to the Ricoh Arena is great to see and it has resulted in huge interest over the phone, online and in the CCFC Superstore.
“Supporters have been extremely patient while we try to meet the demand for Season Tickets and we are very grateful for that.
“We certainly didn’t underestimate the levels of demand but it is undoubtedly the case that we’ve had to work really hard and really quickly since getting the deal done to get tickets and Season Tickets on sale.
“We are working extremely hard to get everything in place for the Gillingham game too, which has intensified the pressure on our systems, but we will continue to work as hard as we possibly can to meet the demand.
“Every single supporter is important to the club and all we can do is appeal for their continued patience as we try to process each and every sale."
The club are keen to enourage supporters to buy their season tickets on-line if possible.but are working to get extra staff in place to get through the mountain of work that has to be done.
