Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has said that he is accelerating the appointment of a new manager due to the busy schedule of matches that City have over the next two months.
The Sky Blues have seven matches this month and six in April and writing in the programme for the MK Dons game, Mr Waggott wrote about the appointment of a new manager: "I don't want to cut corners in the process but equally, I want to accelerate it because of the up coming games we have so that is a big chunk of the season in a very short space of time.
"We need a lift because of the situation we are in. I am weighing up all the options. We could go for an interim appointment until the end of the season with a view to a long term deal or, if we have the right candidate, an appointment for the short, medium and long term.
"We need the right manager who is at a juncture in his career that fits where we are as a club. Somebody who is ready for a massive challenge but who sees the potential.
"If truth is told, I didn't expect to be in this position at this stage of the season. We gave Steven Pressley a four year contract because we felt it was right for the future of the club but unfortunately, with first team results going the way they did, we simply had to make a change."
