Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has said that supporter power has brought about the scrapping of match day price increases for tickets and a reduction of 50p in the price of beer on the concourses around the Ricoh Arena.
Chief executive Steve Waggott said in a press statement: “We are committed to making football more affordable for our supporters and this is a step along that path.
“The match-day price increase had been in place to encourage more supporters to buy in advance but we have taken on board feedback from our fans – through the Supporters’ Consultative Group and other bodies – and we have decided to remove the increase.
“The price of beer was also raised at the most recent SCG meeting and we are pleased to say that, with the agreement of ACL, that it is being reduced by 50p.
“The price of football in general has been in the news this week and, as a club, we are very keen to find ways to make attending our matches more affordable for supporters.but this is an issue we are going to continue to look at because football is about the supporters and should be accessible to as many people as possible.”
