Walking In A Pressley Wonderland

Last updated : 05 January 2014 By Ben Edwards

There's an excellent article in 442 "Too Much Too Young" this month about our young players who are attracting interest from other clubs.

However, with the results and the way we are playing my biggest concern is other Clubs may come in for Steven Pressley.

I'm amazed at how he's got a team with young kids punching way above its weight. He's certainly proved me wrong!
There's so much to enjoy watching the team at the moment.

What is sad is that so few fans are witnessing the best football we've played for years. With a number of fans refusing to go to Northampton, Sixfields is like a "Ghost Town".

However, despite everything that is happening off the pitch, Pressley hasn't let this impact on the team’s performance.

Elvis and his back room team have a clear game plan and they are sticking to it. I get the impression he's changed a lot round to deliver his brand of football.

The attention to detail in the warm up is very professional and the hard work in training is obviously paying off.

Elvis leaves the dressing room at least 5 minutes before the team comes out. 'Less is clearly more'.  When watching him,  he gives simple instructions "press".
At half time if we are a goal down he asks for "more".

The other factor is asking the players to win their individual battles. Opposing Managers are increasing commenting that their players are not winning theirs.

He's also got the best out of the players. Murphy has been in outstanding form, We have the two best attacking full backs in the league and our centre halves are solid but it's the one place I would strengthen.

In the middle of the park, Fleck and Thomas are running the show. Fleck has been the most improved player this season. His range of passing and vision is a joy to watch. Thomas is growing in confidence with every game and is very hard working.

Moussa and Baker are working hard and creating chances. I would bring in a quick right winger to move Moussa up front to replace Wilson and to cover the centre mid pairing.

Up front. Leon is the in-form striker in the division and I can see a number of bids coming in for him. If we are to get into the Play Offs we've got to turn them down.
With Wilson out at least he will be staying. Before his injury he was odds on to have netted 25 goals this season.

Elvis and the team are certainly, "as one".

If we can keep Pressley and our key players - 2014 should be a good year and a play off place is within our grasp.

In Elvis we trust...
