Walsall FC have said that they are looking to identify those who invaded the pitch during their 2-1 win over Coventry City on Saturday.
Walsall had been quick to complain when some City supporters got onto the pitch during the FA Cup tie and have now said in a press statement that they are seeking to identify those who got on to the pitch.
The Saddlers have now issued the following statement:
"Walsall Football Club would like to remind fans that encroachment onto the pitch is a criminal offence and will be taken very seriously when it happens.
"In recent weeks, most notably following our goals against Coventry City on Saturday, a number of supporters entered the field of play and CCTV footage is now being reviewed by the club and the necessary authorities to identify the individuals who ran onto the pitch.
"While we appreciate that emotions run high, we cannot and will not tolerate this behaviour. The safety of the players and officials is of paramount importance at all times. This behaviour cannot continue.
"The necessary action will be taken against the individuals who are identified as the club will not tolerate this kind of behaviour moving forward."
