Coventry city defender Elliot ward, currently on a month long loan at Doncaster has claimed he has got the move he wanted and it was worth the wait.
Ward, who has been told by 'City boss, Chris Coleman, that he does not have a future at The Ricoh, has been looking for a move for some time, but rejected several offers before agreeing to move to Division one Southampton, only to see the previously agreed deal fall through when Southampton signed another defender and pulled the plug on the move.
Ward later moved to Doncaster Rovers on a months loan and is enjoying his time there telling the Yorkshire Evening Post, "My contract is up in the summer and I haven't been involved (at Coventry) since November. I think there's a few people in front of me."
"I'm happy to be here for this month and hopefully, it goes well. A move to Southampton fell through in January and it was a bit of a waiting game. I had a couple of loan moves (offers) that month, but just wanted to wait that extra week.
"I wanted to bide my time, but now I've got the move I wanted. I've missed a lot of football this season and want to play games until the end of the season."
