Coventry City will not be renewing their interest in Danny Ward.
The Bolton winger had been on loan at the Ricoh Arena on a deal which meant the more he played the less City had to pay, but got a hernia injury and returned to the Reebok Stadium for treatment.
Ward's loan expires in January and City boss Aidy Boothroyd has said they won't renew it, saying to the Press Association: "Danny`s is the longest hernia in history.
"The honest answer is I don`t really know (the latest). I sort of took my focus away from Danny when he got injured.
"He`s had a few complications, his loan is up January 1st so I`m not guessing I`m going to see him too soon as it would take him four weeks to get fit."
It has been muted that Ward would like to return to Swindon Town where he was on loan last season.
