Wasps CEO Nick Eastwood has said that if the pitch at the Ricoh Arena becomes a problem then they will sort it.
Speaking about Coventry City Football Club and Wasps Rugby Union Club sharing the same pitch at the press conference this morning, Mr Eastwood said: “It’s a reinforced pitch here at the Ricoh.
“I’m not a groundsman but we will always play after the football so there will never be a stage where the pitch is churned up before a football match.
“All I can say is that at Adams Park where there is a similar reinforced pitch, there has never been an issue with pitch wear. There were times during last December and some terrible weather when you could go back out into the stands ten minutes after the rugby had finished and you wouldn’t know there had been a game played. The pitch was completely unmarked.
“But if we have to invest in the pitch to make sure that continues, we’ll invest in the pitch.”
