Coventry City striker Clive Platt has told Sky Sports.com that all the City players want to impress during the club's pre-season friendlies.

City played Nuneaton yesterday and face Hinckley on Wednesday with trips to Kettering and Chesterfield before playing Norwich City at home on July 30th.

Speaking to Sky Sports.com, Platt said: "Pre-season is all about putting hard work in and getting that base of fitness right for when the season starts.

"Hopefully, we can keep away from too many injuries in the next few weeks and look forward to all the pre-season friendlies.

"All pre-season games are competitive nowadays because everyone wants to catch the eye of the gaffer and prove their fitness.

"There will be more than enough competition between the lads to impress and I'm sure that they will all be good games to be involved in."
