The Republic Of Ireland international has a year left on his City contract but has been the speculation from a number of top flight clubs including West Bromwich Albion.
Speaking to the CT, Ray Ranson said: "Some big clubs want him but if we can, we want to get him to stay.
"Aidy has been asking the same question and we are doing our best and we are talking to his agent."
