Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that the team are where he wants them to be, after completing their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 loss at Oxford United.
Pressley, who has not been able to sign on players due to the transfer embargo and the administration caused by bad management from the club's owners, and City have for much of pre-season included many of the U21's from last year's side as well as a number of City U18's players and trialists amongst those who will expect to start against Crawley Town next Saturday.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City manager said: “I am very much where I want us to be.
“I thought our attitude to the game was excellent again and we had total control of the game for long periods but just lacked penetration.
“We didn’t get runs through from the wide areas that I was looking for, but that will come.
“But in terms of where we are with our levels of fitness, we’re excellent, and I thought our desire to win the ball back was excellent. We passed the ball with purpose but just lacked the final pass and penetration in the final third.”
