Mike McGinnity has calimed that City could have had a game against Catalonian giants Barcelona if the Arena had been ready on time.
The City Chairman and now stand in Company Secretary told the CET: "We had an offer to play Barcelona as one of their games over here but we couldn't take the risk of agreeing to it because of the uncertainty over the stadium.
"If we had agreed to it and then couldn't fulfill the fixture they would still have wanted their fee (believed to be in excess of £150,000).
"It is a shame because we also had an offer from Inter Milan (part of the Robbie Keane deal) but we will not be able to do it now."
