Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that his side did not have their normal fluency during the 1-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United.
Mowbray told Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraph: "If you were paying your money you’d have to say it wasn’t a spectacle – it was a dull game where not a lot happened at either end and for a long time it looked as if it was going to be a 0-0.
“I think we were OK out of possession but we weren’t good enough with the ball.
“We’ve generally threatened, created opportunities and scored goals and we didn’t manage that today. We played two up top but we didn’t find the fluency we normally have.
“Scunthorpe found themselves in a predicament where hard work was key and they did that; they changed their shape, closed us down and stopped us playing.
“Teams will work you out and that’s when you have to be adaptable, find the answers."
