Coventry Sphinx Chairman Dannie Cahill has said that Sphinx have not held back on the pre-season games this year.
Cahill told the Sphinx website: "As you can see we have not held back on friendlies this year. We decided this year to try and get as many difficult opponents as possible so were are up and running 110% and chomping at the bit at the start of the season."
Speaking about the friendlies which will Sphinx will face Nuneaton Griff, Solihull Moors, Rugby Town, Barwell and Bedworth United with more to be announced, Cahill said: "Nuneaton Griff have been in the top 3 for last few seasons in the Midland Combination Premier Division and are old rivals so we are expecting a tough day with that one.
"Solihull Moors play in Skrill North and only just missed out on the play-offs, Rugby Town who were very unlucky not to get promoted losing 3-0 to Slough in their play-off semi final are next on the agenda.
"Jimmy Ginelly's Barwell are always a tough side to play against, where we will be hoping to put one over them after losing the last two pre-season friendlies and finally another local derby against our close neighbours Bedworth who will be hoping to put one over us and start on the right foot after a relegation battle last season.
"We are still in negotiations with a few teams to complete the line up and announcements will be made via the Sphinx website http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/coventrysphinx/, twitter and via Coventry Mad, who through Covsupport News Service are again supporting us in the new season."
