The City players were back at Ryton this morning after having a few days off and Chris Coleman is expecting them to show some determination for the games which lie ahead. City have fifty points and another four means that the staying up party could start and then it's a scrap to finish as high as possible in the table.
"This morning, in terms of preparation and levels of what we expect of them, is like any Monday morning in September or October," said Coleman to the CT.
"We play Reading, who are a very good team, on Saturday and we need to be at it again and go to try and get another result because we are determined to finish strong.
"It is good that we are playing against one of the stronger teams and it is a good test for us.
"So no matter where the players have been or what they have done with a few days away, I will be looking at them and saying 'he's ready, he's not,' because I am desperate to get some more good results.
"I want to get up there and get higher and that goes until the last game against Ipswich."
Reading at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday will be a tough test but they are not unbeatable for a side that has beaten promotion hopefuls Wolves and Birmingham this season at home.
"There is nothing better than winning in front of your own fans with a really good performance, and if your supporters can see that you have got your sleeves rolled up and that you are at it, that's great," said Coleman.
"Some teams are starting to wind down and those in our position might be thinking they can get six points from the 24 available left to play for, knowing that they are not going to go down.
"But that can't be good enough for us. We have got to think 'we have got Reading next at our place and we are not going to give them any points.'
"We want to take some points off a team that might be in the Premier League next season - it's a good scalp for us.
"Then we have got Palace and travel down to London, so let's get that away from home mentality and make sure we don't lose.
"We have got the ability and if we have that mentality and frame of mind we will pick up some good points.
"Let's see what we can get from these next eight games. "We will take the first four - Reading, Palace, Plymouth and Charlton - and if we can get an unbeaten run and nick a couple of wins then that's a good return for us.
"So I am really looking at the last eight games in two blocks of four.
"A couple of wins sets us up nicely - we have got to aim for that. You never know, we could get four wins, but being realistic I want us to get two wins from the next four."
