Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has said that the team spirit amongst the City players must be maintained this season.

The Iceman said in the club programme for Sunday's game against Ipswich Town: "There have been problems because we have lost players but at the end of the day we all have to stick together as a team and as a club.

"We cannot expect the chairman and the guys upstairs to keep spending lots of money all the time.

"I am not sitting waiting for them to buy more players - we have players and we have to pull together and do our thing.

"There is a nice spirit in the dressing room and we have all got along together during pre-season. We need to keep that going and see what happens this season and do better than last year.

"We are in this together. We went paint-balling and went up to Scotland and we've had great fun, but have been working hard, too. You can't do this as an individual, you have to do it as a team."

"The build-up has been good and I can't wait to start the new season."
