Speaking to Sky Blue Player after the 1-1 draw, the City boss said: "We certainly didn't lack in endeavour but I thought we lacked a bit of imagination and never really troubled Preston enough as a team.
"We had some decent chances but overall I thought we still looked a little bit leggy, yes because the lads are tired after a long season but not just that, it's the dynamic of the team as well which is something we have to get right.
"That being said, I couldn't fault the lads' effort because they gave it all they had."
