"The thing we need is to be consistent throughout the season and keep picking up points," Speaking to the CT, Ward said.
"We have got six out of 12, which is all right, but I am sure we will pick up more in the next few games.
"It has been a tough start but have had a good rest and I am sure we will come back strong against Preston, Sheffield United and QPR, which will all be very tough but definitely winnable games.
"And if we do win two and get a point from the other then everything is rosy again.
"So as disappointed as we are about Doncaster, we are still upbeat about the rest of the season."
