Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that his players need to show more agression.
Speaking after the 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town in a game where he was heavily criticised by many of the 687 City supporters, some of whom called for him and those who appointed him to be ousted from the club, due to his substitutions, tactical nous and ability to lift the players to play in difficult conditions, the City manager said: "If we want to make a real impact next season we have to come to places like this and win these games.
"We’ve shown that we can play football, even on a surface like that, but we need to do it with more intensity, take the game to the opposition.
"We were a bit too tentative in the first half – we didn’t play with enough aggression, with and without the ball.
"We picked up in the last ten minutes and we were a lot better in the second half when we got into some good positions in and around the penalty area.
"But the pitch had really deteriorated by that stage and when we worked the ball into key areas it gave us real problems – I don’t know how many opportunities we had to get shots away but we couldn’t get the ball out from under our feet."
