Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that his players need to show their character.
Speaking to the CT, the City boss said: “Our problem is we can’t get players fit enough quick enough but I don’t like brushing things under the carpet.
“It is no good saying we did well in the first 12 games and then in these last games we haven’t done well, winning just one in eight or nine. We need to address it, it is as simple as that.
“I hate people looking at someone else and pointing fingers. “I look at myself and I talked with my staff this week to see what we could change in terms of training.
“I expect my players to look at themselves before they point the finger at anyone else. "What can they do more and what can they do better?
“I don’t like people who point fingers when they are not doing the business themselves because you have to get your own house in order first.
“Me, I am the same as everyone else and I have said all along that you learn more about people when it is not happening for you than you do when it is happening for you.
“You learn more about characters and just because you are a character doesn’t mean you have got character.
“You can be a good lad and a laugh and a joke in the dressing room but that doesn’t mean that when the muck and bullets are flying you have got that character.
“Right now the muck and the bullets are flying, so we will see who doesn’t fancy it.
"And football being football, even if we play well on Saturday you are not guaranteed anything.
"But what would be nice will be to see if we can turn a corner. “All right, we haven’t got everyone back fit and are missing a lot of experienced and good players, but let’s see if we can turn that corner against a team who are playing with a little bit of confidence.
“We are at home so there will be pressure on us. We haven’t done very well of late so there won’t be a big crowd and it may be quiet. So what! "Let’s take the bull by the horns and go and get a result.
“I still think when all is said and done, when we have got everyone fit we have got a better squad than last year. "Unfortunately, we just can’t get them fit and once we do that hopefully it will improve.”
