Coventry City manager Andy Thorn says that the Sky Blues have to put in a performance against Southampton tomorrow for the fans.
"We owe it to the fans to give a professional performance. Everyone knows the situation isn't good on the injury table but that is no excuse." said Thorn to Sky Blue Player.
"We are a professional side and we are going to put in a performance. We need to get that pride back as it has been horrible the past week.
"If you can't get yourself up for games like these, then you shouldn't be in football and we want to go out with a bit of dignity.
"One thing I am getting a bit of fed up with though is people just writing us off. It is really starting to get on my nerves. We have given tons of effort and commitment, and obviously it has just been a bit too much for us in the end.
"But we certainly haven't lacked the fight and when you hear people saying 'they will be happy to play us' then they obviously haven't watched many of our games this season.
"If anybody thinks we are going to go there and lay down, then it is just not going to be the case.
"People are passing comments who aren't close to the club and they don't realise how hard it has been for the lads but now they have got themselves a great chance to be part of something and the change the outcome of big situations.
"You're on national TV and that is always special for a player. If people think they are just coming along to enjoy a party, then they are wrong. We are coming along to give everything we can.
"As I say, some of things you hear, you don't like. On the radio, people just dismissing you. I hate things like that.
