Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd was full of praise for Morecambe after their 2-0 victory against the Sky Blues on Tuesday night.

Whilst many of the City travelling support, who were at the public unveiling of the Globe Arena were less than happy that it was different manager same garbarge, the City boss, who had already said that the league was his priority, told Sky Blue Player: "I thought Morecambe played well, the referee did well and we didn't.

"We were the better team in the first half but they were the better team in the second so now we have to make sure we are fully focused and prepared for Watford on Saturday.

"The league will always be priority but a cup run would have been nice because this club is famous for cup runs.

"The positives that have come out of tonight are that we have bloodied two 16-year-olds in Cyrus Christie and Jonson Clarke-Harris who I think will go on to be very, very good players for this club.

"It sounds daft now but games like that will be good for them although some of the other players will be disappointed because we wanted to go through to the next round but we didn't deserve to.

"We have to take our hats off to Morecambe because for them it was a cup final atmosphere, it's a new ground and we wanted to spoil the party atmosphere but in the end we've added to it."
