Coventry City Manager Andy Thorn said it was men against boys in City's defeat at St Marys this lunch-time.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player after the 4-0 defeat to Southampton, Thorn said:"We had to put out a young side and it was literally men against boys. They were too strong at times and we could have kept the ball better at times but that is the situation.
"I thought the young boys did well with Jordan Willis doing well on his debut until he came off and Will Roberts, I was really pleased with him.
"But that's what we are at the moment and I just said to the boys there, use that as a learning curve and those are the standards we want to get to and it is possible.
"What has happened to us this season, has happened to them not so long ago. We have to try and be positive about it and we can get to those levels.
"It has been tough for us today but we need to develop a winning mentality going forward, and the young lads will learn that.
"We will apply ourselves properly and get into the groove. It is important we freshen things up and we have to do that.
"We were taught a lesson today and we got to learn that and move forward. It has been difficult but there was nothing else we could do."
