Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that his side will use the difficulty of the situation they are in as their motivation as they prepare to take on Bristol City this afternoon at Sixfields Stadium.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: Ultimately we want to be playing in Coventry – of course we do – but I have no influence on that. The only influence I have is on the players and I have to say that they have shown me a brilliant energy and spirit and you can’t buy that.
“We have to face the situation we’ve been presented with and get on with it in a professional manner.
“I’d hope for a packed stadium and an intense atmosphere this weekend but the signs are we won’t have that.
“I honestly don’t know what the crowd will be and genuinely don’t know what to expect from them.
“I understand the frustration of people who have been supporting the club for many, many years and if they choose to do what they want to do then I’ve got no gripe with that.
“It’s a difficult predicament but we have to use that as motivation. As long as our mentality is correct and we go there in a positive manner I think we’ll deal with the situation.
“We always treat home games and away games exactly the same – we analyse the opposition and look for ways in which we cam influence the game.
“We look to win every game – I think that’s been evident from our first two matches this season and I we can provide the same levels of entertainment and excitement.
“Bristol City will be difficult opponents because they’ve been thrown some money to get out of this division. They’ve got a high budget and they’re still carrying a high percentage of their championship squad – they’ve started the season reasonably well and they are definitely one of the contenders to win the league.”
