Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he will not accept mediocrity next season amongst his players.
The City boss, told the Coventry Telegraph: "There are discussions to be had with a few players,” he said. “I have gone on a lot about only having so many left in contract and it can be seen as a negative but it can also be a positive that it’s another clean sheet to start again, potentially.
“You keep the ones who you think can get better and keep improving but there is an opportunity with a lot of spaces to fill again, as there was last year.
“I sat here this time last year and the likes of Frank Nouble had done well and fought hard in those last 13 games and then moved on. The team redeveloped and we went again so it will be a little bit of that again this summer.
“Let’s just hope we can improve and make the team better again. It’s my responsibility not to settle for mediocrity but to try to push on and try to be one of the best teams in this league.
"And the players who come have to have that fire in their belly and want to fight really hard for this club because we won’t accept mediocrity.
“We have to find the right players, of course, that have the character, talent and assets to help the team.”
