The Chairman of the Jimmy Hill Statue Committee has said that it is the Coventry City fanbase who will decide what happens to the Jimmy Hill statue.
Tim Fisher said on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire on Saturday that the statue, Garden Of Remembrance would be moved to the new stadium that SISU are proposing to build.
Major Kevin F.P.Heffernan told Covsupport News Service: "The Ricoh Arena is at present, Highfield Road 2. "It became known as the City of Coventry Stadium during the Olympics. It has been my sincere wish and hope that one day it would become "The Sky Blue Arena" (SKA).
"As a Vice President of CCFC and Chairman of the Jimmy Hill Tribute Appeal, I am totally opposed to my beloved Sky Blues playing anywhere other than the currently named Ricoh Arena.
"As for the Jimmy Hill Statue, which is the property of the Sky Blue Army and the JH Tribute Appeal Committee, it will not be going anywhere without their consent and after proper consultation with the whole fan base. Neither CCFC Ltd, CCFC (Holdings) Ltd or SISU have any title to the financial interest in the JH Statue. I personally supervised every minute of the fundraising and installation of the Statue and until the Sky Blue Army decides it will leave the Ricoh, it will do so over my dead body."
