We'll See How We Are On Saturday - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said he will see how his team is, as the players return from having a few days off.

Mowbray used the free weekend to give his players some time and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City boss said: “I think they’ve come back refreshed but, ultimately, it comes down to matchday doesn’t it so we’ll see how we are on Saturday and how they are then.

“But I think getting away for a few days helps and we’ve had a few good days training since they have been back, so fingers crossed we can push on with 15 to go.

“I think you can break the season down and I always say I don’t even look at the league table until Christmas because you’re just accumulating points and giving yourself a chance to finish the season well.

“Ultimately it’s all about how you finish the season, not how you start it. You have to give yourself a chance, of course, and I think we have done that by getting in the top six and now we have to try to show that we are a good team in the last 15 games.

“Apart from Burton, everyone has gone through difficult spells and patches. Millwall, for example, started poorly and Wigan have been accumulating players and trying to find their best squad and have maybe now found the right balance to do the job for them.

“We have gone through a bit of a cycle. Losing our centre-halves has been a bit of a problem and having such young players in the attacking area and finding game after game tough going.

"But the weekend was a natural break for them and now we have to focus and concentrate on 15 games and see how many we can win between now and the end of the season.

“If we don’t win enough we’ll be disappointed; if we do we’ll give ourselves a great chance and we’ll see where we finish.”
