The City manager, told the club website: "We concede a goal in the first 30 seconds and for the first 15 minutes we looked really nervous.
"We had a bit of a reshuffle at half time and we made a good start to the second half but then we concede again and heads drop.
"Freddy gets one back for us and then it looks like we can go and make something of the game but the momentum you would expect to come from that goal never really arrived which was disappointing and then they get a third.
"We got a good point against West Brom last weekend but we're struggling a bit at the minute, especially with injuries and it was a case of square pegs in round holes again today and we've suffered for it.
"We've had a quite a few injuries in key areas and while the quality in the squad is better than what it was this time last year this squad is still not built to lose players without some sort of consequence.
"We didn't really defend well enough tonight and we've conceded alot of goals this season through that but we had a very young and inexperienced back four out there against Reading and all the lads that played will be much better for the experience."
