According to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, interest in a former Coventry City keeper could stop another former City keeper from re-joining the Sky Blues on-loan.
Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in Keiren Westwood and if he was to leave Sheffield Wednesday then that would scupper the chances of Coventry City taking Chris Kirkland on loan.
Westwood has said that he is happy at Hillsborough and may reject any move which does not guarantee him a first team start and told The Star: "I’m really happy to be here. I’m enjoying my football and Sheffield Wednesday is a fantastic club to play for
"I’m delighted with how things have gone and really happy to be playing football again.
"I had to kick-start my career again, which I think I have done and long may it continue. Sometimes things just fit. The fans have taken taken to me. I have taken to the club. I’m happy and have really enjoyed it."
