According to Newcastle based publication The Journal Live, Sunderland's interest in Coventry City keeper Keiren Westwood appears to be lessening.
The Mackams have had Westwood watched on a number of occasions but the publication is reporting that number one keeper Craig Gordon well on his way to recovery after a broken arm, their need for another keeper is not so great.
The article does say that Sunderland would be interested in Westwood if they can get him on the cheap. Coventry City have received no bids for him.
To buy him, Sunderland first need to sell Kenwyne Jones with Stoke City and Birmingham City interested in the player rated at £12m according to The Mirror.
