The Covsupport sponsored defender and scorer of the last ever league goal at Highfield Road has been on loan at Brighton for the last two months.
The Seagulls are looking to extend the loan for a third month and boss Dean Wilkins is said to be looking at either a loan until the end of the season or taking Whing on a permanent deal.
