Popular right back Andy Whing says he is ready for a return to the first team after over-coming a hernia operation and playing for the reserves and first team at Ipswich.
The ACCSCAG Young Player Of The Year Award winner for last season told Teamtalk.com: "Louis Carey has been injured and we don't have many right-backs or defenders to be honest so I thought I might get on the bench at Ipswich with Dean Leacock in the starting line-up.
"But as soon as he took a knock, I thought 'here's my chance' so my return's been quite quick really.
"It was a bit of a shock to come in straight away though.
"It took me a while to get into the game because obviously the pace is a lot different to reserve matches or training, but it felt great and hopefully I can take it on from here."
