Coventry City's opponents on Monday night - Reading are amongst a host of clubs who have announced that they will drop their prices of admission and on merchandise.
The move comes following the Government's Budget announcement that VAT will be dropped from 17.5% to 15% and has seen clubs lowering prices to comply.
So far the SISU controlled Coventry City, whose offices are now full of accountants and financial bods sent up from London rather than football people, are yet to issue a statement saying if they will follow the lead set elsewhere and knock a couple of pounds off admission prices.
It is understood that some corporate hospitality supporters who pay monthly have been told that their payments will be increasing by 2.5%.
At a time when many City supporters are in fear of their livelihoods, 500 jobs to go at Jaguar and 200 in Woolworth stores around Coventry & Warwickshire are two of today's latest loss of jobs, passing the saving on VAT back to supporters would be seen as the right thing to do.
