Coventry City defender Jordan Willis has said that he is almost back up to speed after coming through eighty minutes of a second U21 game.
Willis got through 62 minutes against Hull City before cramping up and played for eighty minutes in the 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town yesterday.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Willis, who is coming back from his second knee injury, said: “It’s all good; no problems at all.
“I’m almost back up to speed, not quite there fitness-wise yet. I was struggling a little bit at times during the game but that’s all part of it and the fitness side will come.
“Hopefully I can make the first team squad, maybe get on the bench in the last two games and even play a game if I can, which would be a real bonus.
“It’s been a horrible season for me, really hard to take but I am through the worst of it now and come out the other end and looking up.
“It’s been tough mentally and physically but I have had a lot of help to get through it from the physio staff, other injured players, my mum and dad and girlfriend; people keeping my head in the right place and keeping me going when I was feeling down and helping me to keep smiling. But I have hopefully come out the other side now.”
