City moved into 15th in the table following the victory and now have 41 points.

In a full Championship programme tonight, Derby who play Stoke tomorrow still top the table . Second are West Brom who beat Cardiff 1-0. There were also wins for Barnsley,Leicester,Wolves,Luton,Plymouth,Preston and Crystal Palace with the games at Birmingham and Leeds ending in draws.

Baz Savage scored for Brighton at former club Gillingham who released him last month and Willie Boland scored for Grimsby in a 2-1 win over Wrexham.

Locally, Rugby Town were beat 4-1 at home by Bath City but Bedworth United beat Leighton Town 4-1 at The Oval.

Leamington are 29 points clear at the top of the Midland Alliance after a 4-3 win at Loughborough Dynamo. Jason Caddon's side trailed at the break but goals from former Sky Blues Moreton Titterton,Ben Mackey and Avun Jephcott plus one from James Husband put the Brakes 4-1 up. Loughborough replied with two late goals but Leamington went home with all three points.

Stratford Town won 2-1 at Biddulph.
