"We are now in control of Coventry City and I am certainly looking forward to what should be some very exciting times ahead," said new Sky Blues' Chairman Ray Ranson to the club website, after yesterday's news that Mr Ranson backed by SISU Equity have taken over control of Coventry City.

"Since December 14, everyone has been working very hard to reach the 90% of shares that SISU desires and we are very confident we will get there before the April 11 deadline.

"This does not mean everything is on hold until April 11 - far from it. Investment in Coventry City has already started and we will continue our hard work to take the Club forward."

"We have had a series of discussions with the Football League and these are ongoing. We are hopeful of having all of the measures in place to ensure that the transfer embargo is lifted at the earliest opportunity.

"I have had a number of meetings with Iain Dowie and like me, he is excited about the future. Everyone has a part to play - the supporters, management, players and staff - and if we all pull together, there should be some very bright times ahead for Coventry City Football Club."

Covsupport are amongst those who will be meeting Mr Ranson in the coming months, after a pledge was made at the Shareholders Meeting to work with various supporters including Kev Monks.
