Last season's Coventry City club captain Stephen Wright, who did not have his contract renewed when Aidy Boothroyd took over as manager, has been on trial at League one outfit Brentford.
The Brentford manager Andy Scott confirmed that the former Coventry and Liverpool player was training at the club after playing in a reserve team game versus Leyton Orient last week. The Bees are looking for cover for their right back Mick Spillane, but are also short in the midfield as well.
Scott told the Surrey Comet: "Stephen will be training with us this week. It's the one area where we don't have any cover. Kevin played there earlier this season, but we need him in midfield.
"We'll speak to Stephen and see if there is something we can do. He has played in the Champions League with Liverpool and has a good pedigree."
