Curtis Wynter, who was told last week by Coventry City manager Chris Coleman that he would not be getting a new contract, is currently training with AFC Bournemouth.
The defender, who was injured in City's opening friendly of the season at Wrexham, has trained with the club all week and is expected to play in a reserve game this afternoon.
Speaking to the CT, Wynter said:"It is fair to say that along with Ashley Cain and Adam Walker I was pretty devastated about being told I am being released by Coventry City at the end of the season. But like the other two lads, I am determined to bounce back and prove myself.
"I am particularly disappointed because I have suffered a lot with injuries this season which has meant I haven't really been able to show the manager what I can do, so in that respect I feel I have been unlucky.
"I played a couple of first team games last season, one against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup and one in the league against Blackpool when the sponsors made me Man of the Match, so they are nice occasions for me to look back on and I take a lot of confidence from the fact I did all right in those games and I feel when fit I can perform at a decent level."
