Coventry City needed a win To keep their play-off hopes alive and beat Stevenage 3-1 at the Ricoh Arena.

With four games to go and the Sky Blues in seventh place, it was another must win game for Coventry City as they took on Stevenage on a sunny Friday night at the Ricoh Arena.

Mark Robins made one change with Jordan Shipley in for Tom Bayliss in front of a bigger than normal home crowd who were soon on their feet when Marc McNulty hit a shot afrom twenty plus yards after the keeper flapped after being chased down by Clarke-Harris and it flew into the net after eighty seconds.

In the fifth minute, McNulty got in a terrific shot which Tom King parried away for a corner. That came over and there was Marc McNulty to make it 2-0.

Grimmer, who was named in the PFA Team Of The Year, got in a good cross and was then back to clear.

Danny Newton, missed with a header. That led to a goalkick. Lee Burge messed up and Alex Revell blasted low and hard into the net for a Stevenage side who were resorting to sticking the boot in.

Kelly got through in the 32nd minute but King denied him. Then a mistake by Haynes let on Newton for a 25 yarder which was not that far away.

Jordan Ponticelli worked hard and in the 36th minute, he found Shipley, who played in Liam Kelly who superbly volleyed into the net pat King on his right.

Stevenage went down to ten men when Marc McNulty was poleaxed and the referee produced a red card to send off Luke Wilkinson in the 39th minute.

In stoppage time, Jonson Clarke-Harris found Kelly who hit the bar and Newton fired wide before a great half for the Sky Blues ended,

Grimmer fired wide as there was applause for City supporter Paul Sullivan who sadly passed away aged 48.

Ryan Haynes worked well for City as chants of "Twist N Shout" filled the air and were even joined in by some of the Stevenage support.

Grimmer fired at King in the 65th minute and a Shipley free kick led to a throw as the Sky Blue Song boomed out.

McNulty had a 70th minute header saved by King as the noise from the City support in a crowd give as 8,859 continued

Robins made a double change with Clarke-Harris and Ponticelli making way for Reid and Biamou

In the 74th minute, play was suspended when half-time substitute Dale Gorman was taken off on a stretcher.

"Love City, Hate Sisu" was the chant as well as "Sisu Out" chants no doubts fuelled by the press statement about selling the club's Ryton training ground for housing and the claims that a new location had been found but it was a secret supporters and anyone still bothering about the club could be told.

Josh Barrett came on the final nine minutes plus stoppage time replacing Marc McNulty whose confidence would have been boosted by his brace tonight.

Barrett, who looks like he has to squeeze himself into a City shirt, fired well over.

Reid fired at King as five minutes were added on in a game which provided another vital three points.
